REASON 26 TO VISIT #ULTIMATEDINOS: NEVER BEFORE DISPLAYED IN CANADA DINOSAURS!

In my last post, I spoke about how in Canada, we’re used to a certain selection of dinosaurs, like Tyrannosaurus  Barosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, etc. The special thing about Ultimate Dinosaurs: Giants of Gondwana, is that we’re not showing off the old familiars (no doubt, they’re still awesome) but new, never before seen in Canada, creatures.

Growing up, I was incredibly fond of the unfamiliars,  the ones I only saw in books (or later in life, the ones I only saw on Wikipedia). And I honestly thought I would never actually see these awesome fossils in real life. That all changed when I saw the floor plan for the exhbit. There was an Amargasaurus, the skull of Carcharodontosaurus, Abelisaurids Austroraptor, Ouranosaurus, SUCHOMIMUS, scattered throughout the space! I was BLOWN away.

And it’s not just me who feels this way.

I work with kids, and I spend a lot of time with our future palaeontologists. One of the greatest things I’ve ever seen, is exploring #ultimatedinos with new, them, and seeing their faces light up when they see dinosaurs they’ve only ever read about.

I think that’s one of the amazing things about this exhibit, such incredibly bizarre, and yes, ultimate, dinosaurs to experience up close FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Make sure to check out the rest of our28 Reasons to Visit #ultimatedinos! The greatest dinosaur exhibit ever shown (at least in my personal opinion) closes March 17th. More info here!
