Dinosaur Weekend Wrap Up!
Dinosaur Weekend: Where the BIG meet the SMALL
It was worth it. Dinosaur Weekend was awesome! It was great seeing so many families come out to @ROMToronto JUST to have fun with our special activities. We had a bunch of ROM Palaeontologists out on the floor talking about dinosaurs, fossils, foot prints, everything you could ever think of! Our crew worked TIRELESSLY helping all the lil’ guys who came through to make hadrosaur headdresses full of sequins, pomp pomps, fun foam scales and more. It felt like EVERY kid who came through made one.
Our palaeontologists were a HUGE draw this entire weekend. Thanks for asking so many awesome questions, everyone! They had a variety of fossils, from our extensive Hadrosaur collections, and a whole whack of previews for our upcoming #ultimatedinos exhibit.
Folks love them dinosaurs!
Palaeontologists get VERY animated when they have the opportunity to talk about dinosaurs!
We had dinosaur activities all over the building! We had our mascots outside, foot prints around the ROM and crafts and activities on the 3rd floor. Alongside our palaeontologists, scavenger hunts and touch tables, we had our interpretative artist sketching RIGHT inside our dino collection. Phew. A LOT went on.

Thanks to all of @ROMPalaeo for being so accessible this weekend and for answering all sorts of questions, from “are birds dinosaurs?” to “what’s your favourite scene from Jurassic Park?”. Thanks to all our fantastic volunteers for working with all the kids, and helping them make their hadrosaur dreams come true. Finally, a big thank you to EVERYONE who came out. We love that we get this type of opportunity to engage, educate and have fun!
See you NEXT week for Space Weekend!
